A Canadian energy company with a primary focus on PNG and the surrounding region.
InterOil built and operates the only refinery in PNG. The refinery, which commenced operations in 2004, has a 30,000 KBD processing capacity and supplies all of PNG’s requirements.
InterOil operates the major downstream wholesale and retail oil products business in PNG, holding approximately 70% market share.
It also holds the largest on-shore exploration licence holder in PNG with a fully funded multi-well exploration and appraisal program focussed on obtaining LNG supply.
It tested the largest gas well in PNG history at 100+ million SCFPD.

It has an extensive marketing network, world-class financial structuring capability and significant existing US and European gas financial trading volumes of 57 BCF per day and a physical volume in excess of 8 BCF per day.
Merrill Lynch has secured LNG import terminal capacity in the US and is expanding its activities into the Asia Pacific region.
Merrill Lynch Commodities Director, Brad Hitch, is a key player on the Liquid Niugini Gas team.
