Our team of global LNG experts includes:
Dr Jack Hamilton, CEO Liquid Niugini Gas
Prior to this current role, Jack was with Woodside Energy Ltd from 2001-2006. From 2004 to mid 2006 he held the role of Director North West Shelf Ventures, heading up Australia’s largest resource project focussed on LNG, domestic gas and oil production. Preceding this role he was General Manager, Business Development NWS Ventures responsible for developing the LNG Phase V opportunity, which included the expansion of a 5th LNG train at the NWS Karratha operations, as well as associated offshore gas infrastructure investment.
Before joining Woodside, Jack had a career spanning 21 years with Shell in Australian and international roles.
Rob Hannan, LNG Contracts Manager
Rob has 30 years experience in contract management, project controls and project management. He has 16 years experience in LNG plant contracts and LNG plant construction.
Rob is currently leading the contract development and EPC negotiations for Liquid Niugini Gas. Preceding this, Rob was with Woodside Energy Ltd from 1982-1996 and again from 2000-2007. He has worked on all of Woodside’s LNG Developments and Projects including domestic gas, LPG and LNG process plants.
From 1996-2000 Rob established and operated his own consulting business providing contract, project controls and project management services to various mining and hydrocarbon projects in Australia.
Geoffrey Ellison, General Manager LNG Project Development
Geoff’s responsibilities with Liquid Niugini Gas are project development, technical studies, environmental assessment, and contractor evaluation and selection. Prior to this he was refinery manager at Shell Australia’s Geelong, Victoria refinery.
Geoff has also had international roles in the LNG business including that of GM Operations at Malaysian LNG Sdn Bhd., during which time the MLNG Tiga plant was constructed and commissioned and the MLNG Satu plant underwent extensive rejuvenation.
Geoff has spent 27 years in total with Shell in both Australian and international positions.
Peter Colman, Chief Financial Officer
Prior to his current role, Peter was the Downstream Controller for Asia Pacific and the Middle East for Shell, and was Director of Shell Australia and its major operating units and joint venture companies within Australia. Peter was also a Director and Board member of the Audit Committee of the New Zealand Refining Company.
Peter held various roles during his 27 years with Shell and has been involved with all aspects of finance and contracting for a number of projects in Manufacturing and Oil and Gas exploration in Austraia as well as in Norway and the United Kingdom.
Mark Chittleborough, Commercial Manager

Mark is the Commercial Manager for Liquid Niugini Gas, focussed on commercial matters including leading negotiations for a State Agreement with the PNG government.
Prior to this role, Mark was Shell's General Manager for the Gorgon LNG Project. This also included asset management for Shell's involvement on Barrow Island and their assets in the Browse Basin.
Over eight years Mark was involved with progressing these assets into projects that included JV partner re-alignment, portfolio sales/purchases, concluding a State Agreement for Gorgon and moving the project to a FEED decision.
Mark had 25 years with Shell, covering commercial roles in Australia, strategic planning in Shell's central offices in London and a stint running the marketing for PNG and Solomon Islands.

- InterOil announced the Elk gas discovery (100+ MMSCFGPD), immediately followed by an appraisal well and seismic shoot
- Memorandum of Understanding signed in September 2006 with the PNG Government. Project Agreement negotiations underway
